Sara Vannini is a Lecturer at the Departmet of Communication and the Integrated Social Science program of the University of Washington, Seattle, WA. She holds a PhD in Communication Sciences from the University of Lugano, Switzerland, and a M.A. in Latin American Literatures from the University of Bologna, Italy.
Sara‘s research interests are at the crossroad of Information, Technology and Society, Information Governance and Ethics, and Information Literacy: Information Governance and Ethics, Data Justice, Information Literacy, Information and Society, Migration and Sanctuary studies, Visual and Participatory Methodologies // Post-Colonial Studies. She uses the theory of Social Representations as a tool to investigate technology appropriation in different contexts.
